This high-level event will take place on 22nd September (08.00-10.30am EDT) at UNGA 76 where government leaders and partners will present transformative actions and financing to reverse biodiversity loss by 2030. These urgent actions will demonstrate that protecting, conserving, sustainably using, and restoring biodiversity can be nature positive and deliver multiple co-benefits for the environment, climate, and sustainable development. The event will be live-streamed.
The event will feature the President of the General Assembly, Heads of State and Government Leaders Pledge for Nature endorsers from more than 18 countries, high-level UN officials and leaders from IPLCs, CSO, Youth, Cities, science, and the finance sector. It will focus on transformative actions taken and new announcements, including large financing announcements bringing concrete tangible inputs to the upcoming CBD COP15 and UNFCCC COP26.
